La Griega Beach
It is the nearest beach to Colunga, capital of the Council. The Colunga or Libardón river flows into the beach itself, forming a small meander.
Lenght: 650 mts. Access by car. Residential environment.
Services: parking, bathrooms, showers, lifeguards, camping, restaurants.
A lively feast takes place on the beach during the Loreto feasts.
Dinosaurs tracks
from the beginning of the trail till the tracks, 600 mts approximately.
At the East sode of the beach, by its cliffts, the famous and spectacular dinosaurs’ tracks deposit is located. By the rige over the ria we find an indicating board, a some hundred metres path and digged on the hill slope, will take us to the icnites which can be seen over a calcareous stratum bent to the sea which represented a huge-sized quadruped dinosaurs’ pass (sauropods) that could be seen on what it used to be a muddy costal small lake about 150 million years ago. The huge dimensions of such traces , some of them with a diametre of 1,30mts, make them to be considered among the hugest ever found in the whole world. Not far away from there, over the same calcareous stratum, some other traces show up but more difficult to be identified due to their diffuse contour which represent remains of bigger biped dinosaurs. Lastres beach - Colunga
Also known as L’Estilleru beach (since there was a shipyard on it for centuries), has the advantage of being located close to Lastres, one of the most typical and beautiful villages of the Asturian coastal.

La Isla beach - Colunga
It takes its name from an islet located on the left edge accessible through an isthmus during low tide. It is the most visited beach of the council.

Barrigón beach - Colunga
Small beach located on the Eastern edge of La Isla beach connected during low tide as well as to the La espasa one. It shares the services with La Isla beach.
Espasa beach - Colunga
The Espasa river flows into the beach and devides the councils of Caravia and Colunga. The Milky Way coastal route pilgrin enteers colunga crossing the bridge over the Espasa river, which used to be made out of stone and whose remains can sometimes be seen in low tides.
From this place and after passing by the villages of: Venta de la Espasa (former pilgrins’ lodging), El Barrigón, Bueño, Covián, Colunga, Solriberu, La Calzada, El Torreón, Eria de San Vicente, Venta Peón, Conlledo, Cruz de Beldreu, Pemús, Vega y La Llera, the pilgrin gets into the council of Villaviciosa. The Pilgrins’ Hostel is located in La Isla.
La Ñora beach - Villaviciosa
Located in the parish of Quintueles at 23 kms from Villaviciosa. You can enjoy an interesting walk which leads to a mirador over the cliff.

Located in the mouth of the España river between the parishes of Villaverde and Quintes, at 20 kms from Villaviciosa. It’s a perfect beach for practising surf.

Located in the heart of the famous fishing port of Tazones, at 10 kms from Villaviciosa. In the environs many commercial establishments with the most varied gastronomic offer in fish and seafood.

El Puntal beach - Villaviciosa
Located in the parish of San Martín del Mar at 7 kms from Villaviciosa.It is a small expanse of sand on the right side of the Villaviciosa Ria. Near the beach you can enjoy a nice walk by the ria.

Rodiles beach - Villaviciosa
It is one of the most visited and popular beaches of the Principality of Asturias. The ecologic value of the environmenr is especially interesting since it belongs to the Villaviciosa ria partial natural reserve. The beach has a seaboard walk on the west side of the ria. Lenght: 1,000 mts
